Camping in December

Wow... We went camping this weekend and we were Popsicles .. We really thought our two floor heaters would do the job but when we put up our tent we realized the whole top of the tent was just screen and open to the stars.... so we draped blankets over it and put the rain guard on and there was still a gap on my end of the tent and the north wind was poring in... on my head. My teeth were chattering and I was completely frozen. My sweet little Elizabeth was safe and warm though under the covers wearing lots of clothes and wrapped in a blanket next to me and never budged. The kids had heavy sleepers on and we put the boys in bed with us and gave the girls the extra blankets and they huddled next to the heaters and each other and did fine but when I turned the light on in the morning i could find no one because there heads and all were under covers. I quickly got everyone around and headed in to the Erwins home and we thawed out... I have never enjoyed a warm house so much. And Coffee never tasted so good.. John did however shoot two deer, A doe and a Buck and so that is much needed provision for winter meat for the Determan home. We really enjoy venison and are so happy to get it. The Erwin Family were so hospitable to us and we are so thankful for them. So we have yet another story for the Determan Family book we will write someday and laugh with our grandchildren. God is good even when we are not so smart.. Im sure he must have a sense of humor and was laughing at us all the way on that cold Friday night.. :)

Working at the Shop

Well these are our last days at the shop. Kinda bitter sweet , my children have grown up here and Ty was not even walking when we opened the doors. But My kids are so grateful that daddy is coming home. I love that the Lord opened the door for us to gain the experience we needed to be on our own. Here are some pictures .

Sniffles and coughs

We have a cold this week and that is keeping me pretty busy and seeking the Lord more about how to take care of them... Conventional or Natural path... It so hard when you just want to make them better and when mommy is tired.. So we do a little of both... Seems to work well. Elizabeth Rose is doing well and growing more every day. She is sitting in my lap as I type as she can hold her head up well now. Our Adventure of John coming home is turning out amazing so far he already has a lead on a Job that can provide enough money for us for almost 1/2 the year.... MY GOD IS AMAZING. Talk about conformation that this is what the Lord wants us to do. Thanks for your prayers and have a great week.

A busy weekend

We had a great weekend but a busy one. Saturday we spent cleaning at the shop and packing and Sunday was church at the Burk's and then we had to deliver shelves to Stratford, OK and then back home and I had to go grocery shopping for the week..... And then there is Monday... Im at the shop again today and going to run errands again and then back home to relax .. I hope. Elizabeth is packing on the pounds quickly and is cute as can be. She started to suck her thumb this week so I will try extra hard with the pacifier .. I can take it away later and her thumb I cant.. Have a great week. Making Chili tonight for Frito chili pie... one of our favorites.

God will always directs our path...

We are going through major changes in our family this fall season... John has made the decision to close the shop and come home and work from the house and help me out. This is amazing for us.. The opportunity for him to invest in my children and work together as a family is awesome. But in the same sense it will be hard financially for awhile. But God has always provided and I know he will now. John prayed about 2 weeks ago for Gods direction for us and prayed that if God wanted him to close the shop that the work would just stop..... and guess what.... IT DID... nothing but piddly stuff... NO OVERHAULS... it was amazing to see this and scary... I prayed that we would still eat...lol But it is very obvious that God is redirecting and we are on bored and ready to go where ever he takes us... You never know what God has in store... I never knew that 2 1/2 years ago I would go from 3 to 8 children.. or that God would continue to provide our needs for us as the come up.... I love living for the Lord.... He never promised it would be easy , But He has promised a reward in Heaven... So pray for us as we are now a self sufficent family , really living on a whim and a prayer.... We are so blessed beyond measure to have this time together as a family. :)
